Shifting through Wall Street to Raging Bulls at PaddlUp

Perched up on the top of a valley near the M4, PaddlUp is situated just on the edge of an unassuming little village, a location that hides the gems which are stowed away inside. Starting a Saturday with a coffee courtesy of the event organised by Takona hosted at PaddlUp (with their own coffee van).

As you pass through the door you’re greeted by a brace of nostalgia with a Lamborghini Countach and a Ferrari Testarossa. The door on the Countach was up, and almost half expecting to see Jordan Belfort hanging out the side.

Once you’re past the 80’s icons next to catch your eye is a McLaren Mercedes SLR, and not just any but a 722S. As if this wasn’t already a seldom seen car, the PaddlUp vehicle includes two signatures from Stirling Moss himself who piloted the original 722 SLR to Mille Miglia victory in 1955 averaging just shy of 100mph over the 992 mile event. Rumour has it this is the only Stirling signed 722 in existence.

By far the biggest head turner outside was this brilliant white M3 Competition Touring. Finally after years of passionate M car fans calling for it BMW have given in and produced an M3 Touring. BMW have nailed the styling; squat, wide and agressive. You’ve already started shaking with fear before the 500+ horsepower even has chance to get involved.

Should BMW have made a touring sooner? An E46 M3 Touring would surely have been perfection with the screaming S54 and wide hips.

Heading back inside it was impossible not to be struck by the art works on the walls giving the showroom a homely vibe.

The works were produced by POPBANGCOLOUR (who were in attendance at the coffee morning) and depict some of the most memorable moments in motorsport and some of the most phenomenal cars ever produced. One of the most impressive parts about the pieces is they are created/painted using remote control cars.

Sat in the centre of the second section of the show room was a stealth, matt black Huracan STO looking so angular that if you get too close you’d end up with lacerations. Directly in front of the STO was something long low and wide under a cover, which as it was pulled off revealed an Aventador SVJ. These two raging bulls nose to nose was like something out of the bat cave.

Amazing event organised by Takona and PaddlUp, can’t wait for the next one. More images below.
