Timing Tides and Bagging Breakfast - 01/07/23

A bit of a change from Motorsport events with a more chilled out early morning drive to recce some potential photoshoot locations, and as you can see, what we stumbled across did not disappoint.

Having meandered around the costal roads beside the muddy shore line of Essex where the Thames meets the North Sea for a short while we stumbled across a dilapidated, collapsing road which lead down to a vast carpark which featured a seaweed covered slipway out into the water.

By pure luck rather than judgement we’d timed the tide well meaning almost the entire slipway was exposed lined with beached boats, flotsam and jetsam.

With the slipway sitting higher than it’s surroundings it have a surreal perspective to positioning the car creating a really good separation and focus on the vehicle.

Despite the early morning, one challenge was avoiding causing chaos as the rowers and sailors were trying to get their vessels down to the waters edge.

Considering it was the first weekend of July, the weather was very much not on our side with strong winds, intermittent rain and thick grey clouds, but this angry looking weather added to the atmosphere of the test shots.

As always, to cap off a morning drive out we sought out a boujee breakfast spot. With this area being well known for it’s greasy spoon fry ups, Pie and Liquor, and jellied eels we were surprised by the number of more healthy looking place available. Full of beans, eggs, mushrooms and much more (of course including coffee), we made our way back to the shed to work on one of the rally cars which you’ll see more of very shortly…

Overall a successful trip out with this spot being an excellent one for future photoshoots.
